Ford gave a broad hint last week about a burning question for many performance car fans: How much will it charge for the eye-catching, 600-hp GT supercar it debuted at the Detroit auto show?
At a company reception before Geneva auto show press days, Ford Performance chief Dave Pericak and other members of a panel were being grilled about the GT price tag. Finally, Pericak said, in essence, it's a low-volume, ultrahigh-performance sports car and will be priced "competitively with vehicles in the same bandwidth with it."
Getting specific, Pericak said to expect a price in the neighborhood of the Lamborghini Aventador. According to Edmunds.com, the 2015 Aventador Coupe is $404,695, with shipping and gas-guzzler tax.
