Fields couldn't resist making his own joke. "In Matthew McConaughey's case, it was between casting Matthew McConaughey or" ... three reporters leaned in for the scoop ... "Ray Day, and Matthew won out for whatever reason."
Day, Ford's vice president of communications, was sitting next to Fields.
All kidding aside, Fields says he's delighted by the attention.
