DETROIT - Ian Robertson, BMW AG's board member for sales and marketing, will speak during the opening afternoon of the Automotive News World Congress here on Jan. 13.
Robertson is leading BMW's global launch of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles such as the i3 and i8, repositioning the brand as a tech leader.
Last month, Robertson said the i cars, which were launched in the U.S. this year, have helped polish BMW's image as a leader in innovation and technology.
Robertson has been a member of BMW's board of management since March 2008. In April 2012, he took over responsibility for sales and marketing for the BMW Group.
Robertson joins a roster of speakers that includes Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne and General Motors CEO Mary Barra.
