PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 14, 2014 - SANTA ANA, Calif. -- The College of Automotive Management (The College), a national automotive compliance, sales, management, and F&I training school, and wholly owned subsidiary of The Lloyd Andersen Group of Companies, Inc. (LAGC), is pleased to announce the addition of nationally-recognized automotive compliance experts Jim Radogna and Marc Bonanni to its executive team.
Eric Andersen, President of The College of Automotive Management, stated “Legal compliance and ethical behavior has been the foundation of our curriculum since 1992 and is now more important than ever in the auto industry. Our compliance curriculum has always been comprehensive including more Federal and State laws than traditional compliance training programs, but now we are thrilled to be able to offer our students the very best solution to learn the laws that apply to them. The addition of Jim and Marc to our team allows us to offer our dealer partners a unique brand of compliance training that is “summarized” for salespeople, sales managers, and F&I managers allowing dealer employees to complete our compliance courses in a relatively short period of time (within a week), without leaving the dealership and receive testing and certification for a fraction of the cost of traditional programs. For the first time ever, dealers can now afford to have their entire staff trained, tested and certified in the legal compliance issues that relate to their specific job function and provide the strongest evidence of a documented culture of compliance if ever challenged.”
"It is our pleasure to report that industry veterans Jim Radogna and Marc Bonanni have joined our team. This allows the College to introduce two new services which are needed by all dealers right now due to the targeted attacks on dealer advertising by the FTC and other regulatory agencies; our new “Ad Review” services and a “Compliance Hotline” manned by true compliance experts to support our dealer’s ongoing compliance efforts." added Lloyd Andersen, College CEO and Founder. "We searched the industry for a while looking for the best. We can’t think of a better team to provide our dealers than compliance attorney Marc Bonanni and his rich legal compliance history and knowledge, and Jim Radogna due to his retail compliance experience and expertise serving dealers Nationwide through his former company, Dealer Compliance Consultants."
Jim Radogna, formerly the founder and President of Dealer Compliance Consultants, Inc. now serves as Director of Compliance for The College. Marc Bonanni, a legal compliance and licensing attorney with over 30 years of automotive industry experience, is the General Counsel for The College.
Together, Jim and Marc have developed a comprehensive but practical compliance & ethics training and certification program delivered across a proprietary, interactive learning management system covering more federal and state laws than other options available to dealers, specifically in the areas of advertising, sales and desking where many of the infractions occur (before the customer gets to the F&I office). The new legal compliance hotline and advertising review services that are also now available to both franchised and independent auto dealers nationwide are personally managed by both Jim and Marc to give dealers the highest level of service and quality analysis.
The College also provides all of its dealers that participate in storewide compliance training and certification one year of compliance updates and continued access to the online learning management system for no additional charge. The cost per employee for the compliance and ethics program is just $195 for one year of compliance and ethics training, testing, certification, compliance updates and continued access (approximately $.53 cents per day average cost per employee).
All student training activity is stored by the learning management system including test scores. The learning management system requires all students to achieve 100% test scores in order to advance providing the dealer with documented evidence that each employee is not only trained and certified, but also that each employee understands the laws that govern their position for the dealer’s and employee’s protection. Each employee is also then required to sign a code of ethics taking personal responsibility for their own actions during the sales and F&I process, as it relates to their job functions within the dealership, and their commitment to report any unethical behavior they witness to the owner and senior management of the dealership.
“We’ve taken a long hard look at all of the traditional compliance solutions out there, and from what we can tell, this is the only solution a dealer has to FULLY document an ongoing culture of compliance and ethics by including ALL employees involved in the sales, desking, and F&I processes at the dealership, including ad reviews to ensure compliant advertising,” says Jim Radogna.
