Chrysler to feature Bob Dylan in Super Bowl ad, report says

Singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will star in a Chrysler commercial during Sunday's Super Bowl, following celebrities such as Eminem, Clint Eastwood and Berry Gordy, according to Billboard magazine.

Dylan's commercial is expected to highlight the 2015 Chrysler 200, which had its world debut this month at the Detroit auto show.

A spokesman for Chrysler declined to comment.

"Someone made the comment to me that I had the right commercial in 2011 and the wrong car," Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne told Bloomberg at the Detroit show, referring to the Eminem spot. "I think we now have hopefully the right commercial and the right car."

Dylan, 72, although viewed as difficult for advertisers to sign for commercials, has been active for the past decade, according to Billboard, with his voice or likeness appearing in spots such as a 2004 commercial for Victoria's Secret and a 2007 spot for Cadillac.

Last fall, a Jeep commercial used an unreleased recording of Dylan covering Blind Willie Johnson's "Motherless Children," according to Billboard.

In addition to the Chrysler spot, Dylan will be featured in a Chobani commercial during the Super Bowl, using his 1966 hit "I Want You," according to Billboard.

Starring in two commercials during the Super Bowl is rare but not unheard of, the magazine reported.
