NEW ORLEANS -- BMW's North American CEO pressed dealers to produce higher customer satisfaction scores this year and called on them to make commitments to invest in renovating showrooms.
But Ludwig Willisch told reporters Sunday outside the make meeting room that sales prospects for 2014 were strong.
"We enjoyed all-time record sales in 2013, and we fully expect to set a record again in 2014," he said, repeating his message to dealers at the meeting. "The products we have coming will keep the success coming."
Dealer Dan Fields, whose Fields Auto Group of Winter Park, Fla., owns four BMW stores, said he's ready to invest. "They've asked me to make store upgrades, and I don't mind," he said. "This is the perfect time to do it. They've got great products and more coming, and I'm bullish."
