The much-talked-about switch to an aluminum body and bed isn't the only story about Ford's 2015 F-150 pickup. Ford showed a smorgasbord of new features last week at the Detroit auto show.
The more closely you look at the new pickup, the more you see. The truck is festooned with LEDs, from the headlights and taillights to the spotlights that illuminate the bed. The shape is more aerodynamic, says Gordon Platto, F-150 chief designer, and there's more interior space for people and things.
Ford has increased the power in the truck's outlets to 110 volts and 400 watts from 110 volts and 150 watts in the current pickup.
Platto took Staff Reporter Bradford Wernle on a tour of some of the design elements and features of Ford's new pickup.
