Ford Motor Co. is adding another niche trim level to its lineup of full-sized Ford pickups: the F-150 STX SuperCrew.
The F-150 STX SuperCrew is aimed at first-time buyers or value-conscious customers who are returning to the market.
Ford's STX line of trucks slots between the entry-level XL and upscale XLT trim lines.
The SuperCrew gives the STX line a third body style, adding to the regular cab and super cab offerings.
The SuperCrew STX features extra interior space, four full-sized doors and cloth seats.
"With the rapidly expanding full-size pickup market continuing to benefit from economic growth and replacement demand, price-conscious buyers are returning looking for an affordable truck with space, capability and style," Doug Scott, Ford's truck marketing manager, said in a statement.
Sales of the F series have increased 22 percent this year to 427,935 through July, and the overall big pickup market has expanded 23 percent to nearly 1.1 million units.
The 2014 STX SuperCrew will go on sale this fall for $34,240 including shipping.
The STX trucks come standard with a 3.7-liter gasoline engine.
Ford also announced it is adding an STX Sport appearance package to its STX lineup.
The STX Sport package includes 20-inch machined aluminum painted wheels, a black grille and black running boards.
