To the Editor:
I applaud the National Automobile Dealers Association for deciding to make Hillary Clinton the featured speaker at the next convention.
I am not a Clinton fan or supporter. I wasn't a fan or supporter of former President George W. Bush either, but that didn't stop me from attending the 2012 convention or attending the program.
Clinton may have a perspective and viewpoint that are at odds with those of some people in our organization. So what?
Have we reached the point where opposing views and sentiments won't be tolerated?
I would like to think that we as dealers and leaders in our communities have a responsibility to listen and encourage others to do the same.
I sincerely hope that those who are considering boycotting the convention and quitting the organization would take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves whether this is the way they want our industry and dealers portrayed. I hope not.
