The tiny Smart ForTwo was the winner -- meaning loser -- in a recent highly unscientific CarInsurance.com poll that asked 1,500 respondents to pick from a list of 12 possibilities the car that would be "embarrassing to be seen in."
The ForTwo got more votes than the next four vehicles combined, said the site. In order, the other bottom feeders were the Hummer H2, Nissan Cube, Chevrolet SSR and Volkswagen New Beetle.
Respondents said the Smart ForTwo was too small and the Hummer H2 was too big.
Donna Boland, a spokeswoman for Smart parent Mercedes-Benz USA, was underwhelmed by the poll: "What's to be embarrassed about? There are nearly 66,000 progressive, eco-minded Smart owners who would disagree with the opinion of this small, random sample -- as do we."
