Estimated North America car and truck production in July rose 1 percent from a year earlier to 1,075,551 units, marking the 24th straight month that regional output topped 1 million. That last happened between July 2001 and June 2003.
Car production fell 1 percent in the United States, 18 percent in Mexico and 3 percent in Canada. North American car output dropped 7 percent.
In contrast, truck output rose across the board: 5 percent in the United States, 13 percent in Mexico and 18 percent in Canada. North American truck production climbed 8 percent.
Vehicle output rose 3 percent in the United States and 9 percent in Canada while falling 7 percent in Mexico.
