She can't drive. She can't ride a bicycle -- or even a tricycle. But Sorella Stoute of Portland, Ore., may have a future as a car dealer. The 14-month old toddler recently picked off a classic 1962 Austin-Healey Sprite on eBay Motors with a winning bid of just $225.
The tot picked up her dad's unattended smartphone last month and started punching buttons. One of the buttons was the eBay app. One thing led to another, and when it was over she somehow had entered the $225 winning bid.
To her Dad, Paul Stoute, a deal is a deal. And since the car was close by, he paid for it and towed it home.
The '62 Healey, a badge-engineered version of the MG Midget, is in a bit of distress. The engine is partially disassembled, but the body looks clean. The parts alone would be worth at least twice the purchase price to a collector.
