North American car and truck production in May rose 7 percent, or an estimated 1,492,913 units over the same month in 2012. It was the largest May since 2007 (1,454,475).
Car production rose 5 percent in the United States and 29 percent in Mexico and was down 7 percent in Canada. North America was up 8 percent.
Truck output was up 11 percent in the United States, down 4 percent in Canada and down 2 percent in Mexico. North America was up 7 percent.
Vehicle output was up 8 percent in the United States, up 16 percent in Mexico and down 5 percent in Canada.
