"As many have already noted, @Chrysler is a division of Fiat, an Italian company. We specifically said first *US* company," Musk wrote in his first tweet earlier today.
He then followed with: "More importantly, @Chrysler failed to pay back $1.3B."
Also worth noting: the original Chrysler Corp. repaid loans guaranteed by the U.S. government in 1983 -- seven years ahead of schedule -- during the company's financial crisis in the early 1980s. Musk, 41, was 12 years old in 1983.
