INGOLSTADT, Germany -- The redesigned Audi Q7 that debuts next summer in Europe will weigh about 800 pounds less than the current model, company insiders tell German sibling publication Automobilwoche.
They also say a hybrid version of the next Q7 is planned.
Like its predecessor, the redesigned SUV will be produced in Bratislava, Slovakia, on the same line as the VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. It will be based on VW's modular longitudinal platform.
The redesigned Q7 is expected to arrive in the United States in 2015.
