North American car and truck production in April rose 14 percent from the year-earlier month to 1,474,599 units, the highest for any April since 2002.
Car production rose 17 percent in the United States and 29 percent in Mexico but fell 11 percent in Canada. North American car output climbed 16 percent.
Truck output rose 17 percent in the United States, 6 percent in Canada and 2 percent in Mexico. North American truck production rose 13 percent.
Vehicle output increased 17 percent in the United States and 19 percent in Mexico but fell 1 percent in Canada.
