VinSolutions, a unit of the AutoTrader Group, has agreed to buy Haystak Digital Marketing.
Terms of the deal and revenue for the companies were undisclosed.
Haystak buys digital advertising and provides other services to more than 1,000 auto dealerships in North America and Europe.
It is one of seven digital marketing vendors, for instance, that Chrysler Group has approved for partial reimbursement of dealers who use the vendors to buy pay-per-click advertising on Google and other search engines, including Bing and Yahoo. Other vendors approved by Chrysler for the co-op funds include Dealer.com, Search Optics, Mudd Advertising and CF Search Marketing.
VinSolutions is a growing provider to dealers of Web sites and customer retention software. The company's VinLens product allows dealers to see where customers are clicking when they visit dealer Web sites.
AutoTrader bought VinSolutions in 2011. AutoTrader.com is the largest third-party Internet vehicle shopping site in the United States. The unit of Cox Enterprises, the Atlanta communications, cable and media giant, posted revenue of $1.2 billion in 2012.
