Frank Stranah, co-founder of Champion Spark Plugs, once owned this 1940 Packard Super 8 Formal sedan -- which spent 44 years welded inside an old gasoline storage tank before it was liberated in 2011. Jerry Brummett, of Toledo, Ohio, bought the Packard in 1960 and later welded it inside the steel tank in his backyard to preserve it until he could afford to return the car to its original condition. The restoration took two years and $80,000, and the Super 8 Formal is one of 15 known to exist.
