Beattie, most recently Fisker Automotive's chief commercial officer, is joining Kawasaki U.S.A. as head of marketing and sales.
Veteran auto industry executive Richard Beattie has joined Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. as chief marketing and sales officer.
Beattie, 58, reports to Kawasaki President Tak Teranishi and is responsible for marketing, sales and product strategy for the company's recreation and utility products in the United States and Central and South America, according to the company.
Beattie, who is British, retired in November after 11 months as Fisker Automotive's chief commercial officer. He worked in marketing and sales at Jaguar Land Rover North America from 2002 to 2007, retired for two years and returned in 2009 as the company's executive vice president of marketing and sales.
Earlier, Beattie ran Jaguar marketing in the early 1990s, was CEO of Mazda North American Operations from 1997 to 2000, and headed Lincoln-Mercury sales and marketing from 2001 to 2002.
Teranishi said in a statement: "Richard comes to our industry with credentials and experience that will build upon the strong progress KMC has made this year in growing our brand awareness and improving the quality of our market share."
