Regarding "First or Worst: MyFord Touch shows the perils of the first mover; fast followers can avoid the mistakes" (autonews.com, Sept. 3): You have to love the Cadillac guy in the story who says, "Being first isn't always the best ..." when talking about CUE -- Cadillac User Experience -- vis-a-vis Ford Sync.
Evidently he is unaware of or oblivious to the famous 1915 Theodore MacManus ad, "The Penalty of Leadership," that served as Cadillac's creed.
My guess is that he's also not familiar with the saying "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it."
