To the Editor:
John Casesa's piece on Al Mair was excellent ("Mair knew what was right and wrong with Detroit," Comment, June 11).
I was Al's general sales and service manager at Pontiac and also worked with him later at the corporation as vice president of sales and service.
Al had our quality problems and lack of customer focus clearly identified but just could not get the right people to listen to him. He was a voice in the wilderness.
