DETROIT -- Brose North America Inc. has signed an agreement to buy a 380,000-square-foot former Mopar factory in New Boston, Mich. The plant will supply door modules to Chrysler Group's Toledo North assembly plant in Ohio and for undisclosed Ford models. The New Boston plant, Brose's third in Michigan, will begin production in early 2013. Brose is expected to hire 450 workers and invest $60 million at the plant and its two other southeast Michigan locations by 2017. Brose North America, of suburban Detroit, ranks No. 51 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 suppliers to North America with $954 million in parts sales to automakers in 2011.
