Can anyone wanting to track the car, say, a spouse, use the "find my car" feature?
We take security very seriously. All I can say is that the only person who is able to use the "locate" feature is the owner.
Can you shut off a car remotely? For example, to keep someone from turning it back on once they've shut it off?
We can do that with buy-here, pay-here dealerships, but not otherwise.
How many dealerships do you have signed up?
We have over 500 dealers.
Are they new-car dealerships or independent used-car stores?
SkyLink is primarily sold by new-car dealers. It's offered nationally, but it's primarily in the Sunbelt. Places like Atlanta, Florida, there is higher customer awareness.
How do you plan to grow? More territory, more dealerships, more business where you're already present?
It's all of the above. The dealers we have we provide with good support, so we are concentrating on areas where we have already got coverage.
What's your suggested retail price?
Dealers price it differently, but you could say it's $999. Some dealerships offer it with a theft guarantee, lifetime stolen recovery coverage.
For other F&I products, dealer cost is usually around half of suggested retail price. Does that apply to you, too?
That's correct. It's probably got to be an even better markup than that to be competitive in F&I.
