Innovative marketing and a laser focus on customer satisfaction, ownership experience and brand integrity helped Ferrari North America CEO Marco Mattiacci win the 2012 Automotive Executive of the Year Award, the head of the award program says.
Mattiacci, the first Italian to receive the award, has been with Ferrari for more than 10 years and was named CEO of Ferrari North America in January 2010.
"Since taking the helm of Ferrari's North American operations, which includes North, Central and South America, Marco Mattiacci has grown sales in these markets 20 percent," said Robert Djurovic, the award program's executive director.
The award, sponsored by the independent foundation DNV, has been given since 1964 for excellence in industry leadership. Mattiacci will receive the award April 20 at the Detroit Athletic Club.
