DETROIT -- Dodge is offering an online tool to enable consumers to build their own 2013 Dodge Dart.
But the tool comes with an important caveat: Pricing and features for the customizable Dart "are for survey purposes only and are subject to change."
The Dart won't be available in showrooms until well into the second quarter. But the online configurator will allow Chrysler Group to gather some early intelligence on what available features and packaging consumers will find desirable in the new compact sedan.
"By building and personalizing a Dart, you will provide us with information on how you want to see the all-new Dart. Please note the packaging and pricing information on this site is for survey purposes only," the site says.
It also seems to me like a very cheap way to build a potential customer list.
