Jared Rowe, vice president of product management for AutoTrader.com, has been named president of Kelley Blue Book, succeeding Paul Johnson, who resigned Tuesday.
Kelley Blue Book, in a statement, said Johnson will become a strategic adviser to the company.
AutoTrader.com spokesman Lou Laste said Johnson will be paid for his new role and will report to AutoTrader CEO Chip Perry.
Kelley Blue Book was acquired by AutoTrader.com in October 2010.
Johnson is credited with leading the transformation of Kelley Blue Book from a print publication to "a major force in the online auto space," AutoTrader.com CEO Chip Perry said in a statement. "During his time with the company its revenues grew nearly sevenfold."
Rowe joined Autotrader.com in 2010. Before that, he spent 10 years at FordDirect, where he was a member of the executive management team.
