To the Editor:
Regarding Keith Crain's Jan. 23 column: There should never have been any incentives for any kind of vehicle. If electric cars are so good, why not restrict government purchases, including police and military, to those vehicle types?
Of course, they are just not that good, and it isn't a matter of time; it is a matter of physics.
They will never be better for range and reliability than burning hydrocarbon gotten from under the Earth's surface in almost any of today's or tomorrow's engines.
