CHICAGO -- Mazda North American Operations has opened a parts distribution center in Aurora, Ill., to service 125 Mazda dealers in the Midwest and Canada.
The 250,000-square-foot center is the last piece of a nationwide overhaul of Mazda's service parts network that has resulted in four new U.S. parts centers over the past year.
Mazda told retailers in July 2010 that it would reorganize its U.S. and Canadian parts distribution with a $20 million network expansion.
The new Chicago-area center, which will employ 65, will house $18 million in service parts, and serve as the U.S. center for North American-sourced vehicle components.
The center is being managed for Mazda by Caterpillar Logistics.
