Supplier NSK Americas Inc. has promoted COO Brian Lindsay to CEO.
Masahide Matsubara, who has been CEO of NSK Americas, will be promoted to senior vice president and deputy head of the Industrial Machinery Business Division at parent company NSK Ltd. in Tokyo.
Lindsay has served as president and COO for two years, where he restructured management and guided the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Americas unit through the economic crisis. NSK says the unit is now "firmly profitable."
Prior to NSK, Brian served as president of TI Automotive's global fuel systems division based in Auburn Hills, Mich.
NSK Americas makes bearings, steering columns, electric power steering and automatic transmission components.
NSK Americas, of Ann Arbor, Mich., ranks No. 68 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 suppliers to North America with an estimated $581 million in parts sales to automakers in the fiscal year that ended March 31, 2010.
