DETROIT -- General Motors CEO Dan Akerson bought more than $900,000 worth of GM stock on Wednesday, according to a regulatory filing made with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Akerson bought 30,000 shares of common stock at $31.33 per share, for a total of $939,900, according to the SEC filing.
The purchase brings Akerson’s GM stock holdings to 50,000 shares.
Akerson bought the stock as a “personal investment,” GM spokesman Jim Cain confirmed today.
GM stock closed today at $31.42 a share, up 12 cents or 0.4 percent on the New York Stock Exchange. The automaker made its initial public offering last November at $33 per share.
