North American car and truck production in March was up 20 percent from March 2010. Automakers built 1,340,948 units -- the first time more than 1.3 million units were produced in a single month since November 2007.
Car production rose 6 percent in the United States, 8 percent in Canada and 34 percent in Mexico. North American car output was up 13 percent.
Truck output climbed 29 percent in the United States, 13 percent in Canada and 21 percent in Mexico. North American truck production rose 25 percent.
Vehicle output rose 20 percent in the United States, 11 percent in Canada and 29 percent in Mexico.
