To the Editor:
I read with great anticipation "40 MPG: 'A magic mark'" (March 28) until I realized that no clean-diesel cars had been included.
Is there any reason why none of the four Volkswagen and Audi clean-diesel cars with an EPA rating of 42 mpg highway was mentioned in the story?
With a sticker of $22,995, the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI seems within striking distance of any of the gasoline-only models included.
