After a tepid start to 2010, the end of the year points to an industry in full recovery mode.
December and full-year sales of light vehicles will be announced Tuesday, Jan. 4. Look for a double-digit percentage increase for 2010 and a December seasonally adjusted annual sales rate above 12 million.
Hyundai-Kia Automotive remains on pace to outsell Nissan North America, replacing Nissan in the No. 6 spot.
Of the seven largest automakers, four -- Ford Motor, Nissan, Chrysler Group and Hyundai-Kia -- are poised to finish with double-digit increases, along with gains in market share.
General Motors and American Honda Motor are likely to boost unit sales but lose share. Toyota Motor Sales is expected to fall in both units and share.
