They're the dream machines that preview what we'll see in showrooms tomorrow. Here are 10 concept cars that turned our heads in 2010.
Vehicle type: 2-seat hybrid sports car
Engine: 2 small turbine engines with electric motors at each wheel
What's cool: The expanses of sheet metal on the hood and rear decklid are simply gorgeous. The interior is pure conceptual nonsense but fun just the same. Zero to 60 in 3.4 seconds.
Will it be built? Sources say Jaguar is looking at producing up to 2,000.
Cadillac XTS Platinum
Vehicle type: 4-door sedan
Engine: Plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 3.6-liter, V-6 direct-injection engine
What's cool: This all-wheel-drive sedan previews Cadillac's upcoming replacement for the STS and DTS.
Will it be built? Yes, sources say. Cadillac plans to use almost all of this sedan's design cues for the production car, due by the 2012 model year.
