WAYLAND, Mass. -- Jerry Chase, a retired Ford dealer, died Oct. 29. He was 84.
Chase's career began in 1960 at Budd Automotive, where he was a special assistant to the vice president. From 1961 to 1965 he worked in land development at Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, then transferred to Lincoln Mercury's Boston regional sales office. His last position there was as regional operations manager.
He left Lincoln-Mercury in 1970 to purchase Butler Ford in Framingham, Mass., which he renamed Framingham Ford. He retired in 2005. His son Jerome Chase Jr. now runs the dealership.
