It seems Ford has been unveiling the new Focus at every major auto show this year, and the L.A. show is no exception.
It's no wonder. Small cars represent 20 percent of the U.S. market, and it's where 50 percent of buyers under age 30 go for new vehicle purchases.
So it was Mark Fields' turn today to showcase the high-performance Focus ST and a concept Focus race car that is customized with a safety cage.
The Focus goes on sale early next year and is expected to offer 40 mpg, as well as WiFi and MyFord Touch as options. It will also feature active park assist for parallel parking.
"Focus represents Ford's biggest opportunity for growth for all the stakeholders," said Fields, head of Ford's Americas unit.
