Light-vehicle sales in Canada rose 1 percent in October from a year earlier to 123,310. It was the 11th consecutive monthly increase.
Sales through October were up 7 percent to 1,330,658.
Sales of light trucks rose 14 percent to 65,837. Car sales fell 10 percent to 57,473.
Honda Motor Co. and Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group were the only major automakers with double-digit gains. Toyota was the only one with a double-digit sales drop.
Ford Motor Co. led all makers with sales of 19,660, up 6 percent. Ford truck sales rose 4 percent to 15,120, while car sales rose 12 percent to 4,540.
General Motors Co.'s sales fell 5 percent to 17,915, good enough for the No. 2 spot. Chrysler Group was No. 3 at 15,168, up 6 percent.
Toyota's sales slumped 23 percent to 14,540, putting it fourth among makers.
