DETROIT -- ADESA Inc. has acquired Premier Auction Group, which includes six auction sites, and is building a greenfield auction site in Las Vegas, the used-vehicle auction giant said Wednesday.
The under-construction auction site is to be named ADESA Las Vegas. The new site, 10 miles north of the famous Las Vegas strip, will open for business in the spring.
The acquired auction houses are Bay Auto Auction in Bay City, Mich.; Dealers Auto Auction of Michigan in Clare, Mich.; East Tennessee Auto Auction in Fall Branch, Tenn.; Montpelier Auto Auction in Montpelier, Ohio; Premier's Las Vegas Auction in North Las Vegas, Nev.; and Wisconsin Auto Auction in Lomira, Wis.
Acquisition of Premier Auction Group complements ADESA's dealer consignment efforts and strengthens its presence in Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio and Wisconsin, ADESA President Tom Caruso said.
Former Premier President Bob Hubregsen is to join ADESA as a vice president.
