Following a successful run of four special-edition Soul models over the past year, Kia plans to continue the momentum with at least two special versions for the 2011 model year.
Serving as a preview of what's to come, Kia rolled out concept versions of two Soul-based models.
The first was the Soul White Tiger concept, in a nod to 2011's Asian lunar-year animal. Beginning with a Soul+, fog lights, body colored bumpers, spoiler, black fender vents rear-bumper cat-claw graphics, an alloy fuel door and 18-inch white alloy wheels are added to the outside. The all-black cabin gets a push-button starter system, leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, floor mats with contrast stitching and illuminated scuff plates.
The production version of the Soul White Tiger lands at dealerships this month.
After giving birth to their own clothing line, the hamsters from Kia's popular Soul TV commercials are also getting a special-edition Soul model.
Highlighting the Hamstar concept is a custom red-and-black color scheme with the star graphic and the Hamstar logo on the hood. Matte finish stripes also run diagonally down the passenger side of the car. Completing the outside are black and polished aluminum wheels.
Hamstar-exclusive touches for the interior include red/black sport cloth seats and Hamstar floor mats with rubberized Hamstar badges.
