KALUGA, Russia -- Visteon Corp. is opening an automotive interiors plant in Kaluga, Russia, to produce door panels and other parts for the Volkswagen Polo.
Visteon opens interior component plant in Russia
The plant, 112 miles southwest of Moscow, will open in the first quarter of 2011. It is equipped with injection molding lines and ultrasonic welding cells.
Visteon currently supplies climate control units, lighting, electronics and interior components to Russian assembly plants.
In August, Visteon formed a joint venture, OAO Visteon Avtopribor Electronics, to produce audio, infotainment, driver information and controls electronics. That venture is located in the city of Vladimir, 105 miles east of Moscow.
