The writer owned two dealerships that were terminated by Chrysler.
To the Editor:
Regarding "Marchionne, products wow dealers," Sept. 20: Why would you portray Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne as a white knight or hero without even questioning him on what he intends to do for the terminated dealers?
If a time of healing has begun, it would stand to reason that Marchionne would create a fund for those dealers that were robbed of their livelihood.
It should be Marchionne's pledge to reimburse those dealers as his new company becomes profitable, knowing full well that those profits were obtained on the backs of those terminated dealers who invested millions in inventory and facilities and personnel.
If he chooses not to help, he can expect that the public will be reminded regularly of what he did. Automotive News should not give him a pass.
