Dealership service managers now have another opportunity to sell a warranty after a vehicle is repaired.
Warrantech is rolling out a product it calls an extended labor warranty that is sold in the service department. It is like an extended service contract for individual parts and the associated labor for after-warranty dealership service work.
Many dealerships offer only a 90-day warranty on labor even though parts generally come with a one-year manufacturer's warranty, said Dominic Sansone, automotive division president for Warrantech, of Bedford, Texas.
