DETROIT -- A special session of the 2011 Automotive News World Congress will examine the need for a national industrial and manufacturing policy and how such a policy might affect the auto industry in the post-bankruptcy era.
Among the speakers at the Jan. 11 session will be Lynn Tilton and Wilbur Ross.
Ross, 72, is CEO of the private equity firm W.L. Ross & Co. and a major turnaround financier in the United States.
His automotive ventures include International Automotive Components Group, which he formed in 2005 with remnants of suppliers such as the European operations of Lear Corp. and Collins & Aikman.
The session on industrial policy will be the third time Ross has spoken at an Automotive News World Congress.
