North America car and truck production was up 34 percent in August from last year, with 1,115,896 units built. It is the second-largest month of 2010 and the 10th consecutive month showing an increase over the previous year.
August car production rose 13 percent in the United States, 19 percent in Canada and 60 percent in Mexico for a combined 24 percent in North America.
Truck output rose 40 percent in the United States, 64 percent in Canada and 43 percent in Mexico for a combined 44 percent in North America.
Vehicle output rose 28 percent in the United States, 39 percent in Canada and 53 percent in Mexico.
