Arndt Ellinghorst, head of automotive research at Credit Suisse, is not bullish on the initial public offerings of General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group.
"I expect GM to have a great IPO, and then the stock will fall. The same will happen for Chrysler," he said.
Ellinghorst predicts sales of electric cars will account for about 4 percent of the global market by 2020. And if you believe in an electric future, he said, buy the stock of the Chinese automaker BYD. "BYD stock is terribly expensive right now," he said. "But if China goes to EVs, it is [a stock] to get."
