Here's a belated update on Bob Thomas, the Indiana dealer who lost his primary race for Congress in May. You may remember that Thomas challenged incumbent U.S. Rep. Mark Souder for the Republican party's nomination for Indiana's 3rd District seat.
Thomas came in second to Souder, who resigned just two weeks later after admitting an extramarital affair with a staffer.
Thomas got back in the race. But so did a rash of other candidates. Instead of voters deciding this time, the Republicans held a nominating caucus to pick their candidate.
Last weekend, Thomas finished fifth in that caucus, losing to a sitting state senator who didn't run in the primary.
He will not be on the ballot in November.
