LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Tenneco Inc. will supply emissions and ride control technologies for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra Heavy Duty trucks, which come with optional clean diesel engines.
For the diesel versions, Tenneco collaborated with General Motors Co. on selective catalytic reduction technology. The system, which results in cleaner emissions, will be used on these models for the first time.
Tenneco is also supplying its multituned valving system on shock absorbers for GM's heavy-duty truck platform to enhance the vehicle ride, reduce noise and improve durability.
Tenneco, of Lake Forest, will manufacture the parts in Litchfield and Marshall, Mich., and South Africa.
