To the Editor:
It was difficult to read the stories about the Saturn dealers without sadness ("A day in the death of Saturn," Feb. 15).
Saturn started as an American-built, affordable car with tremendous customer loyalty. Mainstream General Motors decision-makers decided to change the business plan, even adding a model built in Europe.
Had Saturn stayed with its roots, it would be not only a viable franchise for GM but probably its strongest. If GM were to bring back the Saturn brand with the original game plan, I'll bet there would be plenty of eager customers waiting in line to buy a Saturn today.
