Volvo CEO Stephen Odell says 2010 will be another tough year, but "it just may be more fun" than 2009. That means a market that will react in "fits and starts," says Odell, 55.
Whether his career will follow the same path, Odell isn't saying. It's unclear whether he's part of the package in the pending sale of Volvo to China's Geely. He says only that part of the deal involves keeping the Volvo management team.
Doug Speck, 50, CEO of Volvo Cars of North America, said last month that he was negotiating a deal with Geely to keep his job. Odell says the Geely deal is on track to be completed by the second quarter.
