Will the luxury crowd accept minivan-style doors on a large, E-class-sized Mercedes-Benz sedan? Mercedes is testing the waters in Geneva with the F800 Style concept.
The rear doors slide toward the back of the vehicle. Mercedes claims easier ingress and egress in tight parking spaces. The F800 also reveals the brand's future styling direction.
The car showcases Mercedes' new rear-drive vehicle platform, engineered for both plug-in hybrids and electric-drive models powered by fuel cells. An upgraded Distronic Plus system will automatically steer, accelerate and brake the car in bumper-to-bumper traffic, such as on a freeway, at speeds up to 25 mph.
